About The Faerie Queene
The Faerie Queene (1590–1596) by Edmund Spenser — the longest poem in English: six allegorical books following knights who embody different virtues (Holiness, Temperance, Chastity) through the realm of the Faerie Queene (Queen Elizabeth I). The Spenserian stanza Spenser invented for the poem was later used by Keats, Byron, and Shelley.
