Where should I start ACOTAR?

How many ACOTAR books are there?
There are currently 5 published books in the ACOTAR series: the original trilogy (Books 1–3), a novella (A Court of Frost and Starlight), and A Court of Silver Flames. A new book is announced for January 2027.
Can I read ACOTAR without reading Throne of Glass?
Yes — ACOTAR and Throne of Glass are set in different worlds and can be read independently. Crescent City intersects with both in later books, but ACOTAR stands completely on its own.
Is A Court of Frost and Starlight required?
It's a short novella (companion novella) set between Books 3 and 4. It adds context but Book 4 can be read without it. Recommended if you want the full experience.
When is the next ACOTAR book coming out?
A new ACOTAR book titled "A Court of Thorns and Roses 7" is scheduled for release on January 12, 2027. Sarah J. Maas has not yet revealed the official English title.
