About Cloudstreet

Tim Winton's Cloudstreet (1991) follows two working-class Western Australian families — the Lambs and the Pickles — forced to share a large Perth house from 1943 to 1963 after separate disasters leave each family homeless. Winner of the Miles Franklin Award and the Commonwealth Writers' Prize, it is widely regarded as the quintessential portrait of postwar Australian working-class life.
