The Wheel of Time Reading Order

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time is one of the greatest achievements in fantasy — 14 books spanning 4 million words, with one of the most richly detailed worlds ever constructed. Jordan began the series in 1990 and passed away in 2007 before completing it; Brandon Sanderson finished the final three books from Jordan's extensive notes. The Wheel of Time series is complete and perfect for long-haul readers.

Where to start

Start with The Eye of the World (Book 1). Many readers also recommend the New Spring prequel novella, but it works better after Books 6–8 when you know the characters. The companion book The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time is optional reference material.
