About Waiting for Godot

Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot (1952) is the most performed and debated play of the 20th century — two tramps wait by a tree for someone named Godot who never arrives. The play invented theater of the absurd and changed what drama could be. Beckett's other major works include Endgame (1957), Happy Days (1961), and the prose trilogy Molloy, Malone Dies, and The Unnamable (1951–53).
