About The Remains of the Day

Kazuo Ishiguro's The Remains of the Day (1989) follows Stevens, an elderly English butler who takes a rare motor trip in the 1950s and reflects on his decades of service to a lord whose Nazi-sympathizing politics he has never fully confronted. A Booker Prize winner and one of the great unreliable narrator novels, adapted into a 1993 film with Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson.
