About The Iliad
The Iliad (c. 8th century BCE) — Homer's foundational epic of Western literature: the wrath of Achilles, the Trojan War, Patroclus's death, Achilles's return to battle, and Priam kneeling before Achilles to reclaim his son's body. The poem that established the conventions of the epic form and the questions European literature has been asking ever since.
