About The Idiot
Fyodor Dostoevsky's The Idiot (1869) is a standalone novel following Prince Myshkin, an epileptic man of Christ-like goodness, who returns to Russia from a Swiss sanatorium and enters Petersburg society. Approximately 600 pages, it asks what happens when a truly good man encounters the world — and gives a deeply pessimistic answer.
