The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society Reading Order

Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows's The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2008) is an epistolary novel set in the aftermath of World War II — a series of letters between London author Juliet Ashton and the members of a book club on the island of Guernsey that formed under German occupation. Based on the real German occupation of the Channel Islands from 1940 to 1945, it became an international bestseller and was adapted into a 2018 Netflix film with Lily James. Mary Ann Shaffer began the novel but was too ill to complete it; her niece Annie Barrows finished it from Shaffer's notes.
