About The Castle
Franz Kafka's The Castle (1926), published posthumously, follows K., a land surveyor who arrives in a village and can never gain access to the Castle that supposedly employs him. Kafka's longest novel and the most sustained version of the bureaucratic maze — left unfinished at his death, it ends mid-sentence.
