About Peer Gynt
Peer Gynt (1867) — Henrik Ibsen's fantastical dramatic poem about a boastful Norwegian peasant who spends his life avoiding commitment to himself through adventures from Norway to Morocco to a lunatic asylum, only to discover at the end that the Button Moulder is waiting to melt him down. Grieg's incidental music made it world-famous.
