Graham Greene's Monsignor Quixote (1982) is his most overtly Cervantine novel — Father Quixote, the gentle priest of El Toboso who claims descent from Don Quixote, travels through Spain with a Communist mayor called Sancho in his old SEAT 600 (named Rocinante). A comic Cervantine dialogue between faith and materialism, and Greene's most loving late statement of the themes he had explored throughout his Catholic fiction.
