Becky Chambers's Wayfarers series is a loosely connected science fiction series set in a universe where humanity has traveled to the stars and joined a multi-species interstellar community. Each book follows a different cast of characters in the same universe, emphasizing relationships, ethics, and the question of what home means across the galaxy. The series is known for its warmth, its diverse cast of species and genders, and its focus on the ordinary lives of people in an extraordinary setting. The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (2014) won the Alex Award; A Psalm for the Wild-Built (also by Chambers, though in a different universe) won the Hugo Award.
