About Krik? Krak!

Edwidge Danticat's Krik? Krak! (1995) collects nine stories about Haitian women — under the Duvalier dictatorship, on the boats of the refugee crisis, and in the New York diaspora. A finalist for the National Book Award and named for the Haitian oral storytelling tradition, it is Danticat's debut collection and established her as one of the essential voices of Caribbean literature in English.
