About Go Down Moses
Go Down, Moses (1942) is William Faulkner's most concentrated treatment of race, inheritance, and the moral burden of Southern history — seven linked stories about the McCaslin family (white and Black descendants of a plantation family) across generations in Yoknapatawpha County. 'The Bear,' the novella-length central story, is one of the greatest sustained pieces of American prose fiction in the twentieth century.
