Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 (1953) is a standalone dystopian novel set in a future America where books are banned and 'firemen' burn any that are found. Fireman Guy Montag begins to question the society he enforces after encounters with a free-thinking teenager and a woman who chooses to burn with her books. One of the most widely read dystopias in the American literary canon.
