About Delirium
Lauren Oliver's Delirium trilogy is set in a future United States where love has been classified as a disease — Amor Deliria Nervosa — and cured at age eighteen. Lena Haloway has always believed in the cure, counting the days to her procedure, until she meets Alex and falls desperately in love ninety-five days before her appointment. The trilogy is a lyrical, romantic YA dystopia that launched alongside Matched and Divergent as part of the early-2010s wave that followed The Hunger Games. Oliver's prose is more literary than most YA contemporaries.
