About Cosmos
Carl Sagan's Cosmos (1980) — companion to his landmark PBS television series — is one of the best-selling science books ever written, weaving together the history of astronomy and cosmology with a humanist meditation on Earth's place in the universe. Sagan followed it with Pale Blue Dot (1994) and The Demon-Haunted World (1995), together constituting the most eloquent defense of scientific thinking and cosmic humility in popular science literature.
