About Earthsea

Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea Cycle comprises six novels — A Wizard of Earthsea (1968), The Tombs of Atuan (1971), The Farthest Shore (1972), Tehanu (1990), Tales from Earthsea (2001), and The Other Wind (2001). The original trilogy follows Ged from his school days to the end of his career as Archmage; Tehanu and the later books revisit Earthsea from a feminist perspective eighteen years after the trilogy. Le Guin draws on Taoism, anthropology, and feminist theory to create a fantasy that stands as the most philosophically serious rival to Tolkien's epic tradition. Le Guin died in 2018; the Earthsea cycle is complete.
